Amocanti Presents @ CARNEGIE HALL

Amocanti Director, DavidMichael Schuster and renowned guitarist, Peter Fletcher present works by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco (NY Premiere), Clarice Assad (World Premiere), Schubert, Mompou, Praetorius and Ponce. 

Tedesco's The Divan of Moses-ibn-Ezra, a little-known masterpiece for one of the most illustrious composers of his day, is a song cycle which tells of the exile of a 12th century rabbi and philosopher in Spain through his search for God, and the meaning of life and love and death.

Music for a While

In its debut concert on November 11, 2007, Amocanti presented art songs interspersed with arias from various operas and oratorios.  Composers included:  Dowland, Purcell, Gluck, Handel, Head, Schubert, Schumann, Strauss, Quilter, Verdi, Puccini and Britten.

Getting a Handel on Verdi

Amocanti artists presented works by Verdi against a backdrop of carefully chosen Handel songs and arias, drawing from opera, oratorio and concert repertoire.  We hope this will be the first of many "getting a hand[le] on ________" concerts.

Amocanti was honored to present the first concert in what is bound to become one of Princeton's premiere venues for classical vocal music.  Looking Glass Pond.

Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves

An exploration of a timeless theme through the music of Brahms, Verdi, Schubert and Bizet performed by DavidMichael Schuster, Debra Patchell and Douglas Martin.

Anything Goes

As the name implies ... Amocanti presents favourite (and farflung) works.  Soprano Carla Thelen Hanson joins DavidMichael Schuster, Debra Patchell, Timothy Linwood and Douglas Martin in this joyful celebration of vocal music.
